Position/Title: Team Leader – Pipe Shop
Reports to: Trade Manager
Position Summary: This position will play a critical role in the development of Team Members and will work hand in hand with the Trade Manager in the day to day work assignments. Responsible for assisting in the training and accountability of the quality program. Provides technical input prior, during and following job/task execution. This is a hands-on billable position. Overtime, nights and weekends may be required as customer service needs dictate.
Responsibilities:
Trade Member Development: Assist Trade Managers in the assessment and development plans for team members within their respective trade. Develop and mentor Team Members in their respective trade both technically and personally. Facilitate on the job training for specific critical trade functions and processes. Training to include, but not limited to, personal development, shop related tools, equipment, safety, job/task planning, and technical development. Mentor Team Members in the standards and procedures as it pertains to their respective trades. Employ the use of PATT skills to assist in the technical development of Team Members.
Trade Management: Responsible for the day to day management of their respective team, providing technical input, material procurement and feedback to the Trade Manager / Project Manager on job/task schedules and issues. Assist the Trade Manager with writing the daily team member assignments (TMAP). Assist in the day to day scheduling of Team Members to insure on time delivery. Ensure compliance with the In Process Quality Assurance program and support the Quality Department as required in enforcing Quality audit points within the IPQA process. Team Leaders will work in cooperation with subcontractors.
Trade Member Leadership: Work in cooperation with the Trade Manager in daily assignments to the appropriate job/tasks. Work on board the vessels with assigned tradesmen serving alongside them through quality initiatives and training, technical input, safety assurance, and mentoring.
Trade Shop: Work in cooperation with the Trade Manager in maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Insure daily, weekly, and monthly 5S inspections are completed and complied with.

Experience and Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Some college/associate’s degree is preferred and 3-5 years of experience in the field
Advanced knowledge of the skills respective to the trade he/she will be leading
Intermediate ability to work with Microsoft Office, TMAPs and timekeeper Situational Leadership, or similar manager coaching skill training
Physical Requirements: The ability to stoop, crouch, pull, reach, grasp, lift, push, stand, walk, talk and listen is essential. |
